2003 and newer Toyota and Lexus vehicles equipped with the A760, A761, A960 and AB60 series automatic transmission often come in with complaints of soft, flaring or slipping shifts, low line pressure and delayed reverse engagement as well as solenoid performance codes P0751, P0756, P0761 and P0766.

These codes are set when the control module commands a gear change and the expected RPM range for the commanded gear does not occur. These are classified as solenoid performance codes, they are not the result of an electrical circuit malfunction. A leaking end plug creates the loss of solenoid output signal oil, which in turn prevents the solenoid response from occurring. Consequently, these codes are often set by leaking end plugs in the valve body or by mechanically defective solenoids.

Features and benefits:

The clever dual O-ring TransGo bore plug provided in this kit improves on the OEM design and once installed, the leak is fix. The bore plugs also incorporate a threaded hole on the outboard side and comes with a bolt that allows you to install the plug deep down in the bore to position it so that you can install the keeper without cutting the O-rings. To finish sealing things up nicely, the kit also includes new steel end plugs to replace the other soft aluminum OE end plugs that wear out over time in those units.
