1993 to 2003 General Motors vehicles equipped with the 4L60E automatic transmission often come in with contaminated pressure control solenoids resulting in poor shift quality complaints, burnt frictions as well as TCC slip.
The computer tailors the line pressure rise in accordance with the calculated load. It does this by varying the pressure control solenoid current, which in turn varies the EPC solenoid pressure output. Adequate main line pressure rise is required to provide enough clamping force under all load conditions to prevent slipping, as well as to achieve proper shift quality. Consequently, a compromised pressure control solenoid will cause complaints of soft shifts, flare shifts, burnt frictions and burnt lock-up clutch can occur. These can also be accompanied by a wide variety of gear ratio, shift and solenoid performance codes.
Features and benefits:
This TransGo pressure control solenoid repair kit contains everything you need to take apart the pressure control solenoid, restore the valve bore, then replace the spool valve, spring and cap with new ones. This provides you with an economical option to restore these solenoids instead of having to buy new ones provided that your existing solenoid has the correct ohm reading value. This kit is available as either an all in one kit that includes all the reusable tools needed for the job, or as a refill kit only if you already have the tools. Lastly, each of those repair kits contains enough parts to rebuild 4 solenoids. Not compatible with 2004 and newer style pressure control solenoids.
