This TransGo 6T40-G3 SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit fits General Motors vehicles equipped with GEN3 Series 6T31, 6T41, 6T46 and 6T51 automatic transmissions. This kit properly addresses the most common low mileage failure on these units with three drop-in valves and two oversize valves, both of which require a tool;

This is the same universal tool kit used with all our GM and Ford 6-SPD FWD GEN2 kits - Lube boost valve requires #6T40G3-LB-TKC
At the start of production for the 2015 model year, the 6T40 series of transmissions upgraded to GEN3 with an off-axis chain driven pump incorporating a lube boost valve.
This lube boost valve is very active and exhibits extreme low mileage wear (up to .060”). To salvage the pump, TransGo engineered an oversize hardened steel valve and spring combination to minimize the valve oscillation responsible for premature bore wear, ensuring a lasting fix.
Installation of the new design lube boost valve assembly requires a one-time purchase of carbide tool kit #6T40G3-LB-TKC. The two included guides cover all 6T40 GEN3 series pumps and the dual-piloted carbide reamer ensures quick, easy and precise machining that will last infinitely longer than high speed steel.
